Essential Light Source Control

The included selective brush offers more flexibility, allowing you to individually select more light sources to add or remove your effect from - in just a single click. Then using the sliders in the Main Adjustments, Color Adjustments and Additional Effects tabs, you can control the appearance and characteristics of your effects.

Biography :

Pablo Ruiz Y Picasso dilahirkan tahun 1881 di kota Malaga, Spanyol. Ayahnya seniman dan guru kesenian. Bakat Pablo muncul dalam usia muda sekali dan dia sudah jadi pelukis jempolan pada umur belasan tahun.

selama dekade pertama abad kedua puluh gayanya berubah saat ia bereksperimen dengan teori yang berbeda, teknik, dan ide. Kreativitas Picasso terwujud dalam banyak media, termasuk lukisan minyak, patung, gambar, dan arsitektur. Prestasi revolusioner artistik membuatnya menjadi sosok paling terkenal dalam seni abad kedua puluh.

Di antara karya-karyanya yang paling terkenal adalah proto-Kubisme Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) dan Guernica (1937), penggambaran tentang pemboman Guernica Jerman selama Perang Saudara Spanyol.

Tahun 1904 dia menetap di Paris dan untuk selanjutnya tinggal di Perancis. Picasso betul-betul seorang seniman yang teramat produktif. Selama kehidupannya selaku seniman yang luar biasa panjang itu --sekitar masa waktu tiga perempat abad-- dia sudah mencipta lebih dari 20.000 hasil seni yang terpisah-pisah satu sama lain, rata-rata lebih dari 5 karya dalam seminggu yang berlangsung selama 75 tahun! Sebagian terbesar dari waktu itu, karyanya selalu berdiri paling depan dalam hal harga tinggi, karena itu Picasso menjadi orang yang amat kaya raya. Dia meninggal dunia di kota Mougins, Perancis, tahun 1973.

Pokoknya, Picasso tak syak lagi seorang seniman serba bisa yang jarang tolok bandingnya. Kendati sebutan utamanya seorang pelukis, dia juga banyak melakukan karya pahat. Tambahan lagi, dia perancang panggung ballet; dia bergumul dengan seni bikin pot, meninggalkan sejumlah besar karya lithografi, lukisan melalui garis-garis dengan menggunakan pensil atau kapur tulis dari banyak cabang seni lainnya.

Tetapi seperti sementara seniman-seniman, Picasso juga tertarik dengan sungguh-sungguh pada masalah politik. Nyatanya, lukisan masyhurnya "Guernica" (1937), diilhami oleh kejadian-kejadian dalam perang saudara Spanyol. Beberapa hasil karya lainnya pun punya arti penting politis.

Meskipun Picasso disanjung-sanjung di abad ke-20, layak dipertanyakan apakah di abad-abad depan kelak penyanjungan itu masih bisa terjadi, ataukah pengaruhnya akan segera musnah dalam waktu tak lama lagi. Sudah jelas, tak ada jaminan yang meyakinkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan macam itu. Tetapi, kata sepakat dari para kritikus seni kontemporer mengatakan bahwa pengaruh Picasso akan tetap punya bobot penting di masa-masa mendatang. Walaupun jelas, kita tidak bisa memastikan kelanjutan dari bobot penting Pablo Picasso seperti bisa kita lakukan terhadap seniman-seniman yang sudah teruji oleh sang waktu.

In Photoshop Tricks for Beginners, Calvin gives you a string of quick Photoshop tips that will instantly improve your own techniques in Photoshop CS5 and earlier versions.

NOTE: Giving a class a skill level is always subjective. To some, this class may seem more advanced. We categorized this class for “beginners” because Calvin takes the time to explain the choices he makes, what tools he uses, and/or the functionality of certain features in order to give you a better understanding of how his effects are achieved and how you can utilize these tips in other situations. In addition, you’ll find some more advanced tricks and tips for achieving his effects. The result: a thorough arsenal of Photoshop tricks that has something for everyone! PC USERS: Calvin uses a Mac in this class, but you can easily integrate every shortcut he shows by substituting the “Ctrl” button for the “Command” button.

1. Introduction (01:23) Calvin introduces himself and talks about what he will cover during the course
2. Brightening Eyes (06:15) Calvin makes the iris pop with the exposure adjustment layer.
3. Add a Glow to an Image (06:26) Add an ethereal glow to a portrait. Great for wedding photos or anytime you want to convey a soft, beautiful light.
4. Change the Light with a Vignette (04:11) Calvin shows you two different ways he uses a vignette to change light - something he uses in 99% of his signature work.
5. Learn Quick Mask and Brighten Teeth (04:28) The purpose of this class is to learn quick masks but Calvin gives it a practical spin by showing you how to make teeth whiter too.
6. Create a Color Cast (05:11) By using a selective color adjustment layer, you can add to or change the "mood" of a photo.
7. Luminosity Mask (03:39) A basic technique that Calvin has discovered that most retouchers don't know or remember to use.
8. Painting with Color and Brightness (03:52) Use the blend mode to add color and brightness to hair.
9. Highlight Commands (04:29) Calvin shows you how to make certain commands easier to find in the command menus.
10. Changing Color and Brightness (03:15) Use adjustment layers, blend modes, and the color sliders to change color and brightness without making difficult selections.
11. Add Dimension Without Liquify (03:53) This trick is a great non-destructive alternative to using the Liquify tool to add dimension and keep the subject original.
12. Contrast and Saturation (04:22) Calvin shows you a few different tricks to make a photo pop more. Choose the one you like best.
13. Painting with Color and Contrast (05:16) Use a soft light blend mode to add contrast.
14. Double RAW Conversion (04:31) Calvin shows you a way to do more RAW conversions with one shot, along with a slightly more advanced technique.
15. Light Background, Dark Hair (02:44) Learn a neat trick to change a background and not have to deal with selecting around flyaway hair.
16. Dark Background, Light Hair (02:08) Same concept… slightly different approach.
17. Dark Background, Dark Hair (03:04) Another great compositing tip that works with a textured background.
18. Body Shaping (03:36) Body contouring using the Pinch tool.
19. Contrast and Colorize (02:52) Colorize an adjustment layer for saturated and desaturated contrast
20. Fashion Look (03:16) A "pastel" technique Calvin uses often in his fashion photos, hence the name
21. Elongating Legs (02:29) Using Free Transform, Calvin slightly changes the model's leg length. Use sparingly!

What You’ll Find on the DVD

You will find all the files for completing the tutorials and understanding concepts in this book in the Chapter Files directory on the DVD. You can access the incrementally saved Maya scene files, all of the figures shown in the book, and the incrementally created movies of each project.

Each chapter directory is divided into subdirectories so you can easily find the files. Figures from the book are located in the Figures directory, QuickTime movies in the Movies directory, and so on. Note that the content for each chapter varies, so some chapters will have more materials than others.

All of the Maya scene files are called out in the text of the book. Use these to confirm your settings or test new ideas. The figures are useful to scrutinize detail that doesn’t show up in print. Some can also be used for reference, to match color and shapes.

We discourage you from working with Maya project files directly from the DVD. Maya scenes link to external files such as texture maps and dynamic caches, so it’s better to copy the files to your local drive, including any empty folders, to ensure that the example scenes function properly. Remember that you must set the project directory in Maya in order for the external files to be read properly.

Jacques Louis David (1748-1825) adalah pelukis neoklasik oil paintings yang tekun mengikuti kaidah akademisme yang bersumber pada kesenian (kebudayaan) klasik dengan beberapa pembaruan, terutama dalam tema dan estetika. Tema seni tidak lagi sepenuhnya berdasarkan pesanan penguasa, walaupun kaidah klasik yang sangat teknis tetap merupakan tali belenggu terhadap kebebasan seniman - art.
Neoklasik menggunakan pendekatan intelektual dalam berkarya, dan hal ini dipertahankan oleh David beserta pengikutnya. Bahkan David sempat mendirikan akademi untuk membina dan mengembangkan tradisi art (klasik). Karya David, teman, dan muridnya memperlihatkan corak teknik, estetika, dan tema yang memperlihatkan kesamaan gaya dan konsistensinya pada kaidah klasik.
berikut adalah biography singkat Jacques Louis David yang sempat saya himpun dari berbagai sumber :
Jacques Louis David dilahirkan dalam sebuah keluarga sejahtera di Paris pada 30 Agustus 1748. Ketika ia berusia sekitar sembilan tahun ayahnya tewas dalam duel dan ibunya meninggalkannya dengan pamannya yang bekerja sebagai arsitek. dia masuk di Sekolah Tinggi des Quatre-Nations, tapi dia tidak pernah menjadi murid yang baik: ia memiliki tumor wajah yang selalu menghambatnya, dan dia selalu sibuk dengan menggambar. Dia menutupi buku catatannya dengan drawings, dan dia pernah berkata, "Aku selalu bersembunyi di balik kursi instruktur, menggambar selama dikelas". dia juga pergi untuk belajar dari Francois Boucher, pelukis terkemuka saat itu, yang juga saudara jauh.
